Teaching using MIP Booklet 6

Time Frame:

The due date for completion of tasks and activities for this workshop is:  Friday, 5 March 2021

Workshop Purpose:

The purpose of this workshop is three-fold

Firstly to:

  • Connect with you (our MIP teachers)
  • Check-in on your well-being and –
  • remind you how you make a difference in the lives of others each day and
  • provide you with information to help you cultivate hope and build resilience.

Secondly

  • To provide you with an overview of the revised teaching plans for mathematics for Term 1 of 2021

Thirdly, to review Mathematics concepts which need to be taught in primary schools.  These include:

  • Order of Operations
  • Using MIP Booklet 6 to assess which basic concepts children know and what they need to learn in Term 1.

Before starting make sure you have the following at hand:

Pen and paper

Click here to view Video 2:  Teachers make a difference

This video affirms that teachers do make a difference!  Thank you for all you do each day to motivate, inspire, engage, challenge, and unlock the potential in every child.

For every child that says “I’m not smart enough”
“I don’t get it”, “I can’t”
There is a teacher that says “You can”
For every child who needs basic skills, knowledge – someone to believe in him
There is a teacher who will do whatever it takes … encourage, motivate, challenge, engage, inspire
And instil a love for learning
So for every teacher who works with our children
Building a better future for all of us, one child at a time
Even when it seems like no one is watching
Or that people have forgotten just how special teachers really are
We salute you and we thank you!
So repeat after us:  “I make a difference!”
Now use your “outside voice” for reaching each child
To become the next great author, artist, scientist, architect, musician, doctor, engineer, teacher
You make a difference!
